Sorry, this position has been filled
Unfortunately, the job you searched for is no longer vacant. However, we are always pleased to receive unsolicited applications and we may still have the right position for you within our organization.

Job opening:
Ruby on Rails Developer

We’re a small SaaS startup based in the heart of the Copenhagen startup scene. We help more than 250.000 users world-wide keep a Mileage Logbook. We try to automate and simplify all the trivial work around tracking, classifying and creating the mileage documentation - ready to hand-over to their employer.

We’re looking to expand our team with 3-6 people over the next year, so you’ll be an essential part of a small team at a very exciting stage.

Who are you?

You take pride in building software that is easy to use and write code that is easy to understand. You like complex challenges and take your time getting to the bottom of all aspects so you can find simple solutions that ensure the future of the codebase.

You'll be responsible for our Ruby on Rails web application and backend. Your work will entail building new business tools and implement new processes to make their lives even easier.

You should have:

  • 3+ years experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • An in-depth experience with the basic web fundamentals and a general interest in creating great web applications.
  • Ability to take ownership in the process of building a feature from concept to release, working closely with the rest of the team to ensure a high-quality implementation

We would love if you:

  • Have experience working with large databases (we’re using PostgreSQL) and optimizing load times using indexes, caching etc.
  • Have experience testing with RSpec and Capybara
  • Have tried building your own Rest API and integrate with other API’s. Experience integrating with Stripe, Google API’s or ERP systems would be a big plus.
  • Are not afraid of front-end, but like to keep it simple using haml, scss, bootstrap, partials etc. and comfortable writing JavaScript
  • Have insight into and maybe experience handling server setups and deployment. We’re using Capistrano, Puma and Nginx hosted on our own dedicated servers.

The platform & our philosophy

The Driversnote platform is based on a Mobile App build in React Native and a Web App & backend build in Ruby on Rails.

We’re very product-focused with a profound focus on continuously listening to and learning from our users. We are always trying to improve the product to create an even better and more seamless experience for our users - and we expect you to share this focus.

We don’t obsess over Micro/services oriented architecture or Test Driven Development but embraces The Majestic Monolith while seeing the value in testing the important stuff. We’re pragmatic, keep it lean and try to focus on pushing small and often.

What do we offer?

We have a relaxed work environment, flat hierarchy, flexible work hours and strongly believe that it should be fun to go to work. We’re located in the heart of Copenhagen, in Matrikel1, the most ambitious co-working space for tech startups in Denmark, where you can network with other startups and plenty of cool like-minded people.
